A real soccer manager and this Roblox game — Be a Soccer Manager

A real soccer manager leads a football team, including selection and tactics; wider recruitment and club duties depend on the role. If you mean the career, start with your national football association’s coaching pathway and practical coaching experience. The UEFA and Scottish FA examples below explain one regional route. Be a Soccer Manager on Roblox is a separate game.

What I checked

Checked on 29 October 2026 using UEFA’s coaching-licence overview, the Scottish FA’s Pro Licence requirements, Wikipedia’s manager overview and Euronews’ 18 January 2024 article. The association pages provide primary course evidence; Wikipedia and Euronews provide separate accounts of the job. The coach-versus-manager explanation attributed to Pedro Mendonca has one reporting source, Euronews. The game comparison uses Roblox’s official description as a single primary source. No game client, account login or gameplay testing was used.

What a soccer manager does

Wikipedia’s overview describes selecting players and formations, planning tactics, recruiting and transferring players, negotiating contracts and speaking to the media. It also notes that a sporting director or assistant may share some duties. Euronews independently describes variation between clubs, with technical coaching and wider club management distributed differently. A job title alone does not tell you who controls transfers or budgets.

In the Euronews interview, coach Pedro Mendonca distinguishes match preparation and training from the wider management of facilities, scouting and negotiations. That is one reported explanation. It is useful context, rather than a rule that every coach or manager follows.

How to start: a European coaching example

UEFA’s overview identifies C, B, A and Pro as its main qualification levels, starting with grassroots coaching and progressing toward professional head-coaching work. Courses are delivered through national associations, which may add admission criteria. Contact your own association for the current starting course and opportunities to gain practical experience alongside training. This is a European example, not a worldwide licensing rule.

For a later-career example, the Scottish FA’s Pro course requires a valid UEFA A Licence and at least one year of subsequent coaching experience in 11-a-side football. Applicants must be working at elite-youth or top-amateur level at minimum and complete its specified children’s-wellbeing and mental-health learning. Additional documentation applies to applicants whose A Licence was awarded by another association. This is a summary of that single association’s published entry requirements; consult the full course page for the complete conditions.

The Scottish Pro course is an advanced stage, not a beginner application route. The checked pages do not establish a universal qualification timetable, course fee, salary or route into a paid manager job. Use your association’s current course information for eligibility and availability.

What the Roblox game actually simulates

Roblox’s official description says you create a club with a name, logo, colours and kit; choose a formation and starters; watch live matches; open packs; train players; and use a community market. That single primary source supports those advertised features. Its silence about contracts, press conferences or qualifications does not prove that such systems are absent from the game.

For the career, follow the UEFA and Scottish FA source links and then your own association’s pathway. For the game, the beginner guide explains the Roblox experience. Real coaching requirements and game progression are separate subjects.

Questions

Does this Roblox game qualify you to be a professional manager?

The checked Roblox description describes a club-management game and makes no coaching-accreditation claim. UEFA and the Scottish FA describe qualifications involving formal education and practical coaching experience. There is no public evidence here that playing the game awards a recognised coaching qualification.

What is the difference between a coach and a manager?

In Euronews’ account, head coaches concentrate on training, tactics and matches, while managers may also oversee scouting, facilities and player negotiations. Responsibilities can overlap and depend on the club. This distinction is attributed to that single article, not a universal job definition.

Do all soccer managers need a UEFA Pro licence?

Requirements depend on the association, competition and role. UEFA Pro prepares coaches for professional head-coaching work; it is not a universal entry requirement for every grassroots role or for countries outside UEFA. Ask your national association which courses and eligibility rules apply.

Sources and evidence

Checked 2026-10-29. A source's date and scope matter: a single recording is an observation, and two pages from one publisher are one source. Figures with no public evidence remain unavailable.
